Helen Hurd will soon be going into rehearsals for Shakespeare's The Tempest for Matthew Townsend Productions, in which she will be playing Ariel. The short run is for 7th, 8th and 9th August, at the beautiful Hoxne Watermill, Suffolk.

Helen has over 6 years professional acting experience in stage, screen and voiceover. She recently appeared as Princess Aurora in Chipping Norton's latest pantomime, Sleeping Beauty; performing twelve shows a week. This was the second time she has played the Princess in Chippy's traditional annual show, which has been running for 35 years and boasts a large and loyal following including David Cameron, Jeremy Clarkson and Douglas Hurd (no relation!). The Stage Review

As well as being a professional actor, Helen is the lead singer of the band Still Corners, who are currently working on their second album. The retro 60's indie-pop, is a stark contrast to her Musical Theatre vocal persona and illustrates clear versatility in genre and performance style.

Helen Hurd trained at the Mountview Academy, gaining an MA in Performance, having previously achieved a BA (Hons) in Drama and Theatre Arts at the University of Birmingham. She is currently based in London.
